Meteor scatter DXing has been 'on hold' for the last few mornings as due to Dutch tropo which took over many frequencies, but the band returned to 'flat' this morning and so I resumed my overnight recordings.
I will probably leave the meteor shower DXing now until the April Lyrids appear. This shower is set to grace our skies between April 16th and 25th, peaking on the 22nd or 23rd.

Bits of Dutch tropo floating around today. Not a continuous tropo, but smaller bite-sized morsels, focusing on quite specific areas at a time. The band seemed to lack tropo at times, yet one or two transmitters would be nicely enhanced, so it was a case of being patient and wait for something to pop up. April 5th was still the best day in this spell by far.
During the latter part of the evening 87.6 revealed something vaguely operatic or maybe choral music. I wondered if this might be Kerkradio Apeldoorn. It's not in my log here, but I identified this 10 watter in Nottinghamshire on 15/07/2006. Central Netherlands was nicely enhanced at the time, so it might just have been. Kerkradio Apeldoorn is a religious station (Church Radio).

** Personal Skegness 'First'
Very good reception of the regular Dutch transmitters today after a really dismal start. There was a lack of scatter at local midday and then quite a contrast as the conditions suddenly lifted up. Belmont's Classic FM on 100.5 and most of the Tacolneston frequencies were buckling under the pressure of the stronger continental. Had it not been for an alert from Alex Cator I may not have bothered to listen at all today, so THANK YOU Alex.
There were quite a few Dutch locals at the top of the band during the peak of the reception in the early evening, but these were mostly very weak.
At the time of putting this log together, 0011 GMT, conditions are subsiding slightly.

After a few days of minuscule meteor scatter, a small improvement. These are mostly the most regular of regulars, but I logged everything I could identify to give the full picture. All 'firsts' were from regular transmitters already received elsewhere.

Skegness Log: 31-03-15 (FM)
Band 2 Meteor Scatter:
105.7 0738 E Radio 4G FM, Alcorcón/Polígono Ventorro del Cano (MAD-M) E21F 63689118 1453km **

Not so much time to check recordings lately. I have also had to point the antenna south-west, not a great direction for meteor scatter, as this has been the most wind-resistant position for counteracting the strong winds we've been having. I am amazed my antenna mast survived the vicious weather. Only a couple of hundred yards away we have seen a tree blown down, with other's in the area also suffering the same fate. The Met Orifice finally admitted we'd had 70 MPH gusts in the area. Locally, they could have been stronger. It was impossible to stand upright at the height of the winds.
