WHAT IS HAPPENING? The tropo season got underway with a BANG here on
Monday (23rd) but it keeps on going! I never expected any of this
today!
Today's opening began with the Reims transmitter in NE France
blasting through with its national TDF outlets on 89.2, 97.8 and
98.8 during the late morning, so I flipped the 9.2 into vertical,
expecting to hear local networks from Reims, but heard Paris
stations instead - in excess of 20 of them! Some of them were
hitting two bars on the XDR-F1HD. After a necessary trip into town I
returned to find conditions had fallen away a little, but they began
to recover by the early evening - the same time we had some friends
round. They didn't leave until 1am so I missed virtually all of the
evening's tropo conditions. Grrrrr!
At the time of compiling this report (2am) I have Lille locals
slamming through with THREE bars and instant RDS! I need to get some
sleep at some point. When? :O)
