It's called "tempting fate". I shout "NOISE" and it disappears. But
of course it returned an hour or two later and killed the tropo, yet
it's as if the XDR has lost sensitivity.
As per OFCOM's readings, the noise begins around 50 MHz, peaks very
strongly between 74 and 75 MHz then gradually reduces in strength
and finally disappeares just below 300 MHz. But that was the
original noise. I have more now.
It's possible that the noise could be radiating from the old lady's
house two doors away as I was able to check with our immediate
neighbours this morning who hadn't changed a thing, i.e. they had
been running their BT PLT, computer and plasma TV before and after
the noise came on. I need to do some snooping with a portable.
