The early start to this season, April 26th - the same date that last
year's excellent season began on band 2, we might have assumed we were
in for another good season, but it has not been the case. We might also
have assumed that the Es season would pick up as we head towards June.
Not the case in the UK at all! The Es are actually going downhill. BUT,
there's so much uncertainty with Es and they could pick up any day.
There's still plenty of time.
Good DX!

In the meatime BFBS in Braunschweig has been switched off (http://thomastepe.de/blog/2016/01/frequenzumwidmung-in-braunschweig/) and the frequency has been assigned to N-Joy. The old frequency from N-Joy has been assigned to the local radiostation Radio 38. I hope BFBS R1 will stay for more than 100 years on 103 in Bielefeld. But I guess they will leave in 2017 :-(
ReplyDeleteVery sad news Thomas. I just listened on 103.0 but only hear Veronica and Q Music. BFBS was a daily visitor here. In the summer months I could hear it almost noise-free on scatter peak. Here is a video of BFBS I recorded in 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEEcL9RsnPw
ReplyDeleteMaybe scatter later this morning will allow reception. I am curious to learn if I can receive this. Is it using the same transmitter power?
